July 30, 2015 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Erie, PA)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series traveled to Eriez Speedway last Sunday night for an Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Northern Touring Series event. The fourth annual "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance attracted a season high 47-car field. Over $32,000 in product as awarded along with over $10,300 in cash payoffs bringing the night's total to well over $42,000! Each of the 47 drivers received one of the 50 primary prizes valued at a minimum of $225 up to $2,200. Each driver also received at least one other certificate or prize with several receiving three or four prizes.
Each of the four "Manufacturers Nights" at Sharon Speedway (2012), Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway (2013), McKean County Raceway (2014) and now Eriez Speedway (2015) have all drawn a minimum of 40 cars with the Sharon and Eriez events tying for the record of 47!
Sunday's big winner was Max Blair, who not only won the $1,500 to-win feature, but also drew the number one pill for the prize drawing, which was the Yamaha Electric Start Generator and wheel kit from Alternative Power Sources valued at $2,200. The second major prize was four F3 Tornado Brake Calipers from TBM Brakes valued at $1,800 and was won by Jeremy Wonderling. The third major prize valued at over $1,000 was a custom drivers suit, which will be designed by Velocita-USA and was won by Jim Johnson, who went on to win the non-qualifier event in his second career Tour start.
While Joe Long didn't make the feature, he was one of the night's bigger prize winners and had this to say, "Made out pretty good with the giveaways tonight; got a complete Jones Racing Products Alternator Kit and complete MSD ignition, coil, and plug wire set- around $1,100 in value! I can't thank Vicki Emig and everyone who donated products enough for putting this whole night together. This stuff will go a very long way for guys like me on low budgets."
Dusty Waters was one of the drivers that was lucky enough to receive four prizes in addition to his payoff and take home over $1,000 in prizes. He won a complete set of 4130 Black FK Rod Ends ($500) in the main drawing, a K&N Cold Air Induction System ($500) in the second drawing, along with a $25 Diversified Racing/Bulldog certificate for being an odd place finisher and a box of tearoffs from Ultra Shield for being one of the bottom 25 finishers.
Thanks to Bilstein Shocks for posting a special drawing of four of the "Bilstein Bandits" sealed, spec shocks valued at $540. The drawing was open to drivers currently running the shocks or wanting to participate in the program. Damian Bidwell was selected as the lucky winner. Bidwell was very interested in participating in the program, decided to enter the drawing, and won!
“We really couldn’t have been more pleased with how the night turned out,” explained RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig. “The weather was perfect, we had a great turnout of cars, and Bobby and Kathy Rohrer and all of the staff from Eriez were very accommodating for this event. I cannot thank all the great product companies (see list below) that participated in this awesome night! The racers continue to turnout and support this event as we’ve averaged over 44 cars in the four events to date! Also special thanks to MSD for presenting this night and our one for the Sportsman Modifieds coming up August 9 at Sportsman's Speedway.”
