February 1, 2024       FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Dresden, OH)...The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants is proud to welcome Muskingum County Speedway as a RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series track in 2024!  The 3/8-mile dirt track located 10 miles north of Zanesville, Ohio in Dresden will become the westernmost track in RUSH's footprint.  The RUSH Late Models will make their debut at Muskingum on Saturday, April 27.

RUSH member racers will be able to participate at Muskingum in 2024 and be eligible for all of the programs including the City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship, City Chevrolet "Track Pack Bonus" program, and the 3C Graphix “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers.  While membership is not mandatory to compete in any RUSH-sanctioned event, membership also includes a $100,000 excess participant accident policy, which is over and above drivers’ health insurance and speedways’ participant accident policy.

The City Chevrolet "Track Pack" is offered to all RUSH weekly-sanctioned speedways, and once again in 2024 will award $2,500 that each track's top six member racers will share.  The 2024 RUSH member champion at Muskingum will earn $1,000 with $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth, $200 for fifth, and $100 for sixth.

Racers who compete at Muskingum will also have the ability to compete for RUSH points at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, WV) as well as Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway when Muskingum isn't running in addition to the first ever Flynn's Tire Touring Series event at Ohio Valley Speedway (Washington, WV) on Friday, July 5.  Raceway 7, although a bit further in Conneaut, Ohio, will offer RUSH racers a Friday night option if they choose to occasionally travel there.  Racers at Muskingum of course will have the opportunity to compete in any other RUSH event they choose.

"I can't thank the Moran Family enough for joining Muskingum with the RUSH family of speedways," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "We had always hoped to have the opportunity to begin expanding the RUSH concept more into Ohio, specifically central and southern Ohio, but the timing was just never right.  I really appreciate the Morans understanding the importance of giving those interested in Crate Late Model racing the opportunity to compete and be part of the RUSH program at Muskingum and everything it brings to the table.  I believe the addition of Muskingum is going to be a huge help in the future development and growth of our type of racing in this region."

"It was important to give those interested in competing in a Late Model type car the option of also competing in a crate," explained Donnie Moran.  "We know building the Crate Late Model division is going to be a process for us at Muskingum, but it was very important to us from the beginning to ensure our racers that they could rely on a strong foundation as far as the technical aspects of Chevrolet Performance crate engine racing and we know RUSH can provide that for us.  Although the cars themselves are very similar, open engine racing is very different from crate engine racing and RUSH over the years has established a very intricate system over the years to make sure everyone is competing on a fair and level playing field.  Their championship programs as well as all of the other benefits they offer their racers were also a huge plus!"

Racers at Muskingum will be able to utilize the Hoosier NLMT2 and NLMT 3 for the first six completed events on the rears and for the entire season on the fronts.  Following that point, Muskingum will adhere 100% to the RUSH tire rule.  Muskingum racers competing in any other RUSH-sanctioned events throughout the region must adhere 100% to the RUSH Tire rules.
