April 4, 2024               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Middlebourne, WV)...After four days of rain with near record rainfall causing flooding along the Ohio River and more rain in the forecast on Friday, management at Tyler County Speedway unfortunately had no choice but to postpone Saturday's Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series opener to next Saturday (April 13).  A star-studded and large field of cars from all over the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Ohio Valley had made their intentions known to compete and will now have to wait one more week to kick-off the richest season in Series history.

“We had to be smart given the current conditions of the facility and wanted to provide ample notice to the race teams and fans, many of whom would be traveling long distances for this weekend,” explained track promoter John Watson. “After consulting with Vicki Emig of the RUSH Series, it became clear that next weekend offers a more favorable forecast and will afford us the necessary drying time to produce a more fan and racer friendly experience.”

"As much as we all wanted to race, Tyler County made the best decision for all concerned parties," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "We were made aware of racers from all over our region including multiple past champions that were looking forward to kicking off our richest season in history for the first time at Tyler County on Saturday.  With warmer and dryer weather in the extended forecast, hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate for next Saturday."

April 13 will now mark the first of three appearances by the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour at "America's Baddest Bullring" with each event paying $4,000 to-win!  Pits will open at 3 p.m.  RUSH registration will open by 3 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 5:15.  Warm-ups are slated for 5:45 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.  Pit passes are $35.
