TYLER COUNTY TO HOST
2025 HOVIS RUSH LATE MODEL FLYNN'S TIRE/GUNTER'S HONEY TOURING SERIES OPENER
THIS SATURDAY
By Mike Leone
April 8, 2025 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Middlebourne, WV)...After a rain out of the much anticipated RUSH debut at Bridgeport Motorsports Park last weekend, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series will try again to kick-off the 2025 season this Saturday night (April 12) at Tyler County Speedway. Warmups are slated for 5:45 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.
After a record
$76,200 points fund was posted for the 2024 season, the largest following of 13
full-time teams competed on the Tour in addition to a record average car count
of 40 despite several big events being rained out.
That same point fund will return in 2025 as $20,000 will again be on the
line along with the 3C Graphix $3,000 to-win Rookie-of-the-Year and the $5,000
Landrum Performance Springs "Loyalty Bonus".
Over the off-season, it was also announced that all 2025 Flynn's
Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series events will pay a minimum of $4,000 to-win,
$300 to-start.
Saturday will mark the first of three appearances by the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's
Honey Tour at "America's Baddest Bullring".
Tyler County is in the midst of their fourth year under the RUSH banner
for its Late Model class. Past City
Chevrolet "Track Pack" Champions at Tyler County are Donnie Dotson in 2022,
Brandon Weigle in 2023, and Allen Clark in 2024.
The Tour returns to Tyler County on Thursday, July 3 in a two-night
Mountaineer State doubleheader with Ohio Valley Speedway.
The third and final event will take place during Labor Day weekend on
Sunday, August 31 part of their "Country Roads" event.
Braeden Dillinger picked up the opening night City Chevrolet Weekly Series
victory at Tyler County on March 29.
All events at Tyler County in 2025 as well as Muskingum and Ohio Valley
Speedways are also part of the new Dave Poske's Performance Parts Mid-Ohio
Valley Championship Series. A
points fund of $6,650 for the top 10 RUSH member drivers has been established.
In addition, Dave Poske's Performance Parts will present a loyalty program that
will award one lucky RUSH member racer that competes in a minimum of 10 events a
$1,000 Poske's gift certificate!
Poske's also presents the nightly "Feel the RUSH" 4-Wide Salute at all
Tour events.
The 2024 season for the Flynn's
Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour was supposed to kick-off at Tyler County Speedway on
April 6, but that event as well as the April 13 make-up was lost due to flooding
rains. Severe thunderstorms then
washed out the July 4 event and a rainy Labor Day weekend washed out the
September 1 scheduled event. The Tour has fought Mother Nature just about every
time they have been scheduled at Tyler County over the past three years. Jeremy
Wonderling, who will be seeking an unprecedented fifth Flynn's Tire/Gunter's
Honey Tour title, has two victories, while Max Blair has one win in Tour events
at Tyler County.
"We're really excited about opening our season at Tyler County for the first
time," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig.
"Even though Mother Nature hasn't been a fan, our past events at Tyler
County have been tremendous. We're
thankful new promoters Doug Doak and Scott Jenkins picked up where John Watson
and Dan Patterson left off with their support of RUSH both Weekly and Touring.
Add in the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series points fund and the
richest slate of events in our history brings so much excitement for the
upcoming season."
$100 "Shock the Clock" Qualifying and $25 to-win heat races will be presented by
FK Rod Ends. The Sunoco Dash will set the beginning rows of the feature
lineup and will award the winner a $100 Sunoco fuel gift card. The
"Fill'er up with Sunoco Bucks" program co-presented by Bazell Race Fuels will
include an additional $400 of Sunoco fuel card giveaways; two $100 random draws
for drivers in the top 15 of 2024 Tour points and another four $50 random draws
for all other competitors.
The podium finishers will each receive a three-pack of Heritage Wine Cellars
premier products. Precise Racing
Products will award a $50 gift card for the "Pedal Down" Hard Charger that
passes the most cars in the feature. Ontime Body & Graphic's "Spoiler
Alert" will award a spoiler kit to the first place finisher. The first
feature non-qualifier will receive a $50 certificate from Holley Performance
brands each night. There will also be five BOGO Landrum Performance
Springs certificates given away through drawings each night. Forty lucky
fans each night will receive a bottle of Dusted Steak Seasoning each night.
