ROARING KNOB’S FRI. SWEENEY RUSH L.M. TOUR EVENT PPD TO JULY 28; HAGERSTOWN TOUR A GO FOR SAT.; $1000 WEEKLY EVENT SUN. AT THE ROCK
By Mike Leone

April 18, 2013             FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)…With a 100% chance of rain predicted for Friday, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex owner Rick Jones has postponed the entire event until Sunday, July 28.  The event will still include the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series event with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

The rest of the weekend is still a go and the weather looks great for the inaugural Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series event Saturday (April 20) at Hagerstown Speedway paying $2,500 to-win, $250 to-start!  Warm-ups begin at 7 p.m.  All of the programs will in effect including the Bobby Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat”, K&N “Cold Air Induction” Dash, Precise Racing Products “Pedal Down Hard Charger”, and The Brake Man “Tough Brake of the Night”.

Then on Sunday, “The Rock” – Allegany County Speedway will open and host their first ever Crate Late Model event!  Full Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Weekly Series points will be on the line, and it’ll be a great test for the June 23 Sweeney Tour event.  And it doesn’t end there; Bobby Lake Motorsports has come on board to help increase the event to $1,000 to-win, $500 for second, and $100 to start!  On top of that, any racer that competed at Roaring Knob on April 13, and still has their pit band will receive free pit admission!  Racing will start early at 4:45 p.m. and the RUSH Late Model feature will be first!

“The weather looks fantastic for Saturday and Sunday,” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  “Sunshine and 60-degree weather is in the forecast for both days, and I talked to Lisa (Plessinger) at Hagerstown and she’s very confident and excited about Saturday.  While we certainly didn’t want to lose Friday’s event at least everyone knows ahead of time, and we still have a chance to get the show in on July 28.  Plus now with The Rock running on Sunday for a Weekly event paying $1,000 to-win, it’ll still allow the racers a chance to get two shows in.”

The $1,200 travel money that was advertised for the “Battle Down the National Pike” weekend will still be in effect, but only reversed.  The top 10 finishers Saturday at Hagerstown that then compete at Roaring Knob on July 28 will receive $100 bonus in addition to two other random finishers that compete in both shows.
