RELEASE
(Georgetown, DE)...For the first time in more than three years, the
Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey
Touring Series will return to Georgetown Speedway.
The Sussex County, Delaware facility will host a Late Model doubleheader
with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series part of the "Melvin L. Joseph
Memorial" on Friday, April 24! The
event will pay $5,000 to-win and will be streamed live on FloRacing.
This will kick-off a doubleheader weekend for the RUSH Late Model Tour in
the Mid-Atlantic region as Winchester (VA) Speedway will also pay $5,000 to-win
the following night (April 25).
“We are extremely excited to welcome the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt
Late Model Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series back for the first time in
over three years," expressed Georgetown
General Manager Chad Cathell. This event creates a tremendous opportunity to showcase our
RUSH Late Model drivers on a prominent stage alongside the world-renowned Lucas
Oil Late Model Series. It will truly be a marquee night for competitors and fans
alike, and it represents another important step in continuing to strengthen the
relationship between the RUSH Series and Georgetown Speedway.”
The Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series has
made four appearances all-time to Georgetown with the last visit occurring on
April 13, 2023 when Max Blair was victorious.
Blair also won in 2019, while other winners were Ross Robinson in 2018
and Kyle Hardy scored the win during his 2021 championship season.
Georgetown returned as a RUSH Late Model City
Chevrolet Weekly Series track in 2025.
Nick Davis captured the $1,000 City Chevrolet Track Pack thanks to four
victories. Trevor Collins and Matt
Hill each won a pair of features, while Joey Warren was also victorious.
Georgetown will continue as a Weekly Series track in 2026 with its 1st
State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models, while their Blue Hen Dispose-All 602 Sportsman
Modifieds will be under the RUSH Racing Series Engine Sealing System program.
"It's exciting to return to Georgetown and coupled
with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig.
"We have to thank track owner Ken Adams for giving us the opportunity to
compete alongside Lucas Oil. Ken has
also stepped up to pay the $5,000 to-win purse, which will be the richest for
Chevrolet Performance Late Models in the track's history.
We also have to thank Greg Gunter of Winchester Speedway for moving his
event a week earlier to give racers the ability to race for $5,000 to-win on
back-to-back nights in the Mid-Atlantic."
As the 2026 Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series schedule nears
completion, the Series is proud to add Georgetown back to its slate of events.
The RUSH Tour will also join up with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
once again at the "Firecracker 100" weekend at Lernerville Speedway (June 25-27)
and the "Pittsburgher 100" weekend at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway (October 2-3)
for a total of four events during the 2026 season.
Drivers will again compete for the $20,000 to-win championship amongst a
points fund of more than $76,000!
