RAIN WINS SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL TOUR "STEEL CITY 100" PRESENTED BY BILSTEIN AT PITTSBURGH ON SUNDAY

(Imperial, PA)…Following a successful "Bill Hendren Memorial" on Saturday night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, the second-half of the weekend's doubleheader scheduled for Sunday evening at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series was cancelled due to the impending poor forecast. 

Race #3 of 20 for the Sweeney Tour was to feature the "Steel City 100" presented by Bilstein Shock Absorbers.  The event was actually called off on Saturday night with the forecast at 80% chance of thunderstorms during the day and night on Sunday.  The thunderstorm threat actually increased to 100% on Sunday.  A possible make-up date, if conducive, for all parties will be considered.

With the cancellation, the next events for the Sweeney Tour are the "Mid-Atlantic States Classic" on Friday, June 20 at Potomac Speedway and Saturday, June 21 at Winchester Speedway.  Each race will pay $2,500 to-win and will be the first ever Crate Late Model Touring Series event at both facilities!  Bobby Lake Motorsports "Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat" Quick Cash Program will be in effect at both venues.

Chad McClellan of Stoystown, Pa. will enter that weekend with just a two-point lead over Jason Rider.  McClellan won the opening event at Freedom and finished fifth on Saturday night at Roaring Knob, while Rider recorded a fifth at Freedom and a career best second at Roaring Knob.  Last year's runner-up and this year's favorite, Ryan Montgomery, is third in points over John Waters and Cody Dawson.
