CAREER 1ST WINS FOR TIM PETERSON IN RUSH PRO MODS & DARR DIEGELMAN IN RUSH STOCKS COME AT STATELINE; STANDOUTS JEREMY WONDERLING & BRANDON BURGOON BREAK INTO VICTORY LANE FOR THE 1ST TIME IN 2025

(Pulaski, PA)...Dodging raindrops has become the norm this racing season, but the weather did cooperate for some facilities last Saturday night allowing several Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series events presented by Born2Run Lubricants to be completed.  Tim Peterson and Darr Diegelman captured their first career wins in the RUSH Pro Mods and RUSH Stock Cars respectively at Stateline Speedway.  Veteran standouts Brandon Burgoon and Jeremy Wonderling scored their first wins of 2025 in RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  John Mollick (RUSH Sprint Car) and Chas Wolbert (RUSH Sportsman Modified) continued their winning ways at Sharon Speedway.

 

Logan Zarin and Brandon Burgoon led the RUSH Late Model main event to the green Saturday at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.  Zarin and third place starter Daryl Charlier battled side-by-side on laps one and two before Zarin took control on the third circuit and began to build up a lead.  A caution on lap 12 saw Burgoon use the top side of the speedway to nose ahead of Zarin at the start/finish line. Burgoon went on to lead the final eight circuits to tally his first win of the season.  Zarin came home in second.  Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series regulars Ben Easler and Charlier were third and fourth.  Tommy Schirnhofer, Jr. was fifth.

 

Stateline Speedway was also in action Saturday evening.  Andy Michael and Jeremy Wonderling led the 25-car field to the green.  Wonderling took command and led the entire distance of the main event to defeat fifth place starter Jason Genco by 0.508 seconds at the finish.  It was also Wonderling’s first victory of the season as he sets his sights on a fifth City Chevrolet National Weekly Series title.  Breyton Santee, Michael, and Jake Wilber completed the top five.

 

Veteran Kyle Thomas continues to have a great season in RUSH Late Model action at Tyler County Speedway. Thomas led the entire distance of the 20-lap main event Saturday evening to pick up his third win of the season part of the Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Mid-Ohio Valley Series.  Fifth place starter Kolbe Kimbrew finished in second with AJ Spagnoulo claiming third.  Santino Loretta as Russ King Racing Futures Cup points leader George Casto III completed the top five.

 

Paul Grigsby led the first nine circuits of the RUSH Late Model main event at the Dirt Track at Genesee Saturday evening before a caution slowed the field.  When the racing action resumed, Doug Ricotta was able to overtake Grigsby for the top spot with Jimmy Johnson battling Grigsby for second.  The battle for second ended abruptly when something broke on Johnson’s car, sending him hard into the turn four wall.  Grigsby’s maintained the lead when the action resumed and went on to score his first win of 2025 and his first at Genesee in nearly three years.  Ricotta claimed the second spot over Dave DuBois, Bill Holmes, and Bill Taylor.

 

Brett Marlatt started on the pole of the 20-lap RUSH Late Model event at Woodhull Raceway Saturday evening and led the entire distance to score his second win of the season at the New York oval. Steve LeBarron tried everything he could to get the top spot but had to settle for a second-place finish.  Rich McNeal, Brian Knowles, and Marshall O’Brian completed the top five.

 

Rookie Wyatt Long and Gale Ruth, Jr. bought the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Cars to the green Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway for the Billy’s Garage Weekly Series event.  Ruth, Jr. led the opening lap with fourth place starter John Mollick getting by Zach Morrow and Long for the second spot.  Mollick then overtook Ruth on lap two for the lead. Two cautions slowed the field on laps 11 and 12, but Mollick continued to lead the field at each restart.  Ruth, Arnie Kent, and Joe Buccola put on a great battle for the second spot with Kent finally getting the spot on lap 19.  At the checkered flag it was Mollick scoring the victory by 1.997 seconds over Kent. Ruth, Buccola and Morrow rounded out the top five. The victory was Mollick’s second consecutive divisional win of the season and fifth in the last six races at the Hartford, OH oval, as well as his 20th career divisional win overall.

                                                                                                  

The only Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sportsman Modified event of the weekend also took place at Sharon Speedway.  JC Boyer and Matt Latta led the field to the green.  Boyer led the first 13 laps while Latta, Chas Wolbert and Ayden Cipriano battled for positions two through four.  Cipriano, who was making his season debut in the division, finally got the second spot on lap 13 and set his sights on Boyer.  The duo of Boyer and Cipriano battled side-by-side for the lead on lap 14 with Cipriano nosing ahead for the lead. Cipriano’s night ended on the same lap when he made contact with the fence and suffered a flat tire to bring out the caution. Boyer led the field back to green when the action resumed. Wolbert quickly made the winning pass, weathered one more caution and went on to score the win by just 0.313 seconds over Darin Gallagher.  Wolbert is now three-for-three in 2025 to take the early points lead in both the Weekly Series and “Route 7 Rumble”.  Veteran Rob Kristyak claimed third with Boyer finishing fourth and Todd English getting fifth.

 

The lone RUSH Pro Mod event of the weekend saw Tim Peterson score his first career divisional win at Stateline Speedway.  Peterson became the fifth different winner in the six divisional events held this season.  Paul Nelson was a career best second as Tyler Oakes, Josh Wilcox, and Vaughn Nystrom rounded out the top five.

 

Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Stock Car action at Stateline saw Darr Diegleman lead the entire distance of the 15-lap main event to tally the win.  Diegelman became the sixth different winner in eight races this season.  Kaden Michael claimed second with Cole Strickland in third.  Chelsea Haskins was fourth in her first start in the division.  Ken Moore Sr. was fifth.

 

Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model weekly action at Raceway 7, Dog Hollow, Eriez, Bradford and Lernerville Speedways was rained out as was the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series event at McKean County Raceway.

 

RUSH Sportsman Modified action at Raceway 7, RUSH Pro Mod action at Bradford Speedway, RUSH Sprint Car and RUSH Stock car action at Tri-City and RUSH Stock car action at Eriez Speedway also fell victim to the rainy weather.

 

This weekend’s schedule of Hovis RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series events includes Dog Hollow Speedway and Raceway 7 on Friday. Saturday night racing action can be found at Fonda Speedway for the first time ever, The Dirt Track at Genesee, Muskingum County Speedway, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stateline Speedway, Tyler County Speedway, Winchester VA Speedway and Woodhull Raceway.  The RUSH Late Models will also be in action on Sunday at Eriez Speedway.

 

It's a three-day race weekend for RUSH Stock Car competitors as they will kick off the weekend at Tri-City Raceway Park Friday, travel to Stateline Speedway on Saturday and close out the weekend Sunday evening at Eriez Speedway.

 

Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified action features a “Route 7 Rumble” doubleheader Friday at Raceway 7 Saturday at Sharon Speedway for $800 to-win/$160 to-start part of the Ohio Sprint Speedweek event.

 

The lone RUSH Sprint Car event of the weekend is scheduled for Tri-City Raceway Park Friday evening part of their FREE Fan Appreciation Night.  Hovis RUSH Pro Mod competitors will be in action Saturday at Stateline Speedway and then close out their weekend Sunday evening at Bradford Speedway.

 

There is plenty of Hovis RUSH Racing Series action scheduled so be sure to enjoy a night, or two, or even three at a speedway near you!
