June 30, 2024               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series will head south over the Independence Day holiday for a first ever West Virginia doubleheader.  On Thursday night, the Tour will visit Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne followed on Friday night by the first ever appearance at Ohio Valley Speedway in Washington.  Each night will also be part of the Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Mid-Ohio Valley Series with $4,000 to-win.

The Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour was scheduled to be at Tyler County Speedway on April 12, but that event was rained out; in fact, rain washed out all three scheduled appearances in 2024 by the Touring Series.  The Tour will return to Tyler County on Sunday, August 31 for another $4,000 to-win event part of the track’s “Country Roads” event.

Tyler County is in their fourth year under the RUSH banner for its Chevrolet Performance Late Model class, but first with new promoters Doug Doak and Scott Jenkins.  Thus far this season track standout Kyle Thomas has won three of the five events with western Pennsylvania racers Braeden Dillinger and Christian Schneider also victorious.  Past City Chevrolet "Track Pack" Champions at Tyler County are Donnie Dotson, Brandon Weigle, and Allen Clark.  Russ King Racing Futures Cup driver George Casto III currently leads the 2025 points.

The Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour has fought Mother Nature just about every time they have been scheduled at Tyler County over the past four years.  Jeremy Wonderling has two victories, while Max Blair has the other victory.

Following Tyler County, the Tour heads 60 miles southwest to Ohio Valley Speedway located just outside of Parkersburg in Washington.  Friday will mark the first ever Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour event at OVS and the richest Chevrolet Performance 604 crate engine event in the history of the track.  Ohio Valley is owned by Rich Michael, Jr., a native of Ischua, New York, whose brother Andy is a veteran RUSH Late Model racer and his nephew Kaden was the 2024 RUSH Stock Car Champion.

Ohio Valley has hosted two RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series events this season.  Dillinger won the first ever RUSH-sanctioned event at the track on April 18, while Brian Nethers won his first career RUSH event on May 18.

Both events, as well as the $2,000 to-win City Chevrolet Weekly Series special on Saturday at Muskingum County Speedway with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, are part of the Dave Poske’s Performance Parts Mid-Ohio Valley Championship Series.  Nethers currently leads those points by 21 over 2024 Muskingum City Chevrolet Track Pack Champion, Logan Reed.  The 2025 MOV Champion will receive $2,000 and with a points fund also paying positions 2-10.  There will also be a random drawing for a $1,000 Poske’s gift card for one lucky eligible MOV racer.

"This will be a great way to celebrate the Independence Day holiday," expressed RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "We have to thank Tyler County and Ohio Valley for partnering together to give racers two $4,000 to-win events in back-to-back nights once again after unfortunately Mother Nature cancelled both nights in 2024.  Tyler County always provides tremendous racing and Ohio Valley will present a new challenge for the majority of the RUSH racers.  We can’t thank Dave Poske’s Performance Parts enough for presenting this new program and helping to boost RUSH racing in the MOV."

Four-time Champion, Jeremy Wonderling, leads the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour to the Mountaineer State.  Wonderling has just a six-point lead on 3C Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year leader, Demetrios Drellos.  Austin Allen, who finished runner-up in the 2024 RoY standings, is third.  After his fifth place in the “Bill Emig Memorial” presented by Sunoco Race Fuels on June 21 at Lernerville Speedway, 2021 champion, Kyle Hardy, has jumped to fourth in points.  Zack Carley, who is second in the RoY standings, is fifth.  Completing the top 10 in points are May 25 Tri-City winner Daryl Charlier followed by 2017 champion Bryce Davis, Jason Knowles, Ben Easler, and Dillinger.

$100 "Shock the Clock" Qualifying and $25 to-win heat races will take place each night and be presented by FK Rod Ends.  The Sunoco Dash will set the beginning rows of the feature lineup each night and will award the winner a $100 Sunoco fuel gift card.  The "Fill'er up with Sunoco Bucks" program presented by Bazell Race Fuels will include an additional $400 of Sunoco fuel card giveaways each night; two $100 random draws for drivers in the top 20 of Tour points and another four $50 random draws for all other competitors.
