WEDNESDAY’S SWEENEY RUSH LM TOUR SPEEDWEEK EVENT AT EXPO POSTPONED TO SUNDAY AT 2 PM

(Cortland, OH)…It’s been constant battle with Mother Nature this year, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel.  Wednesday’s Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series event at Expo Speedway has been postponed to Sunday (July 14) at 2 p.m.  Heavy overnight and morning thunderstorms coupled with severe thunderstorms forecasted for late afternoon and evening forced the decision by the Trumbull County Fairboard.

Good weather is now predicted for the remainder of the “Cross the Borders” Speedweek at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa. Thursday night, Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on Saturday night, and Expo Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Pit gates will open at 11 a.m. Sunday morning with warm-ups at 1:30 p.m. followed by racing at 2.  At the conclusion of the program, which will also feature the UEMS E-Mods, a demo derby and fireworks display will be held.  Fair admission, which includes rides and the racing, is $8, while pit passes are $20.

Expo Speedway is a 5/8-mile dirt track located at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds just north of Route 305 on Hoagland-Blackstub Road in Bazetta Township, Cortland, Ohio.
