GENESEE COUNTY FAIR FOR THE 2ND STRAIGHT YEAR

(Batavia, NY)...The
Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring
Series will head north to The Dirt Track at Genesee Speedway this Tuesday night
(July 21) for the only appearance of the season at the 1/3-mile Batavia, NY
oval. The event will also be part of
the 187th Genesee County Fair for the second straight year. Warmups
will get underway at 6:30 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.
Genesee is in its second year under James Gayton with former promoter Jim
Johnson part of the staff; however, the 2026 season marks the 12th
consecutive year that Genesee has been a RUSH Colussy Chevrolet Weekly
Series-sanctioned track. Genesee
has completed eight events thus far this season with an amazing eight different
winners! Those winners include Jimmy
Johnson, Mike Wonderling, Doug Ricotta, Dave DuBois, David Pangrazio, Bill
Holmes III, Dylan Cecce, and Austin Hauser. DuBois
currently leads the $1,000 to-win Track Pack points.
John Waters won the first ever Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour race at Genesee
in 2017, while Jason Genco swept both shows in 2018 with the latter was part of
the Genesee County Fair. Jeremy
Wonderling was victorious in 2019. No Tour event was held in 2020 due to
COVID-19. Waters and Wonderling then added their second Genesee Tour wins in
2021. Chad Homan won his first career Touring Series event in May 2022, while
Wonderling swept the two-day "Topless Nationals" for $6,000 later that year.
Bryce Davis ended a near six-year winless drought with the Touring Series in the
2023 event. Mother Nature claimed
the Memorial Day weekend events in both 2024 and 2025 before the Tour was part
of the Genesee County Fair for the second time last year with Wonderling scoring
a wild victory in front of a raucous crowd.
There have been six different winners in the first seven Flynn's Tire/Gunter's
Honey Touring Series events of 2026. Kyle Hardy won the $5,000 opener at
Georgetown for the 2021 Series Champion's 15th career Tour victory. Wonderling
won his third Eriez Tour event in the last six races on May 17. Joe Martin
won his first Tour event in nearly three seasons with his third straight victory
at Sharon on June 6. Ben Easler won his first career Tour feature on June 13 at
Stateline. Max Blair won the $20,000 "Bill Emig Memorial" presented by Sunoco
Race Fuels for his all-time leading 37th career Tour win on June 27 at
Lernerville. Demetrios Drellos finally capture his first career Tour
victory on July 4 at Stateline. At
the last event on July 11, Wonderling fended off local Brett Marlatt at Woodhull
to become the season's first repeat winner.
Wonderling, who is in search of his unprecedented sixth Series Championship,
currently leads the $20,000 to-win points by 32 over Drellos- the 2025 3C
Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year. Christian Schneider has reeled off five straight
top 10s including a trio of top four finishes to move into a tie for third in
points with Kurt Stebbins, who leads 3C Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year points.
Daryl Charlier sits fifth in points, just eight out of third place.
Austin Allen is only two points behind Charlier in sixth.
Back-to-back third place finishes has Jason Knowles seventh in points.
Easler is eighth, but only 21 points back of third place.
Cody Dawson completes the top 10.
"No matter who has promoted Genesee, they have been a loyal partner of RUSH,"
acknowledged RUSH Director Vicki Emig.
"James Gayton has spent a lot of money at Genesee as he continues to
transform the facility. It's been a
competitive season of RUSH Late Model racing thus far at Genesee and there's a
possibility there could be a ninth different winner in as many races on Tuesday.
It's a great atmosphere to part of County Fair events and we look forward
to Tuesday night."
Genesee's race is a Platinum Event designation- the first of two scheduled in
2026. Platinum Events allow Tour members the opportunity to use them to replace
their worst Tour finish or give Tour members that have or will miss a Tour show
the opportunity to use the event(s) as a replacement Marquee Event.
Schneider Trucks will present the "Hottest of the Hot" with $50 going to the
driver that turns the fastest lap in hot laps. $100 "Shock the Clock"
Qualifying and $25 to-win heat races will be presented by FK Rod Ends. The
Sunoco Dash will set the beginning rows of the feature lineup and will award the
winner a $100 Sunoco fuel gift card.
Hoosier Tire Western PA/Big Daddy's Speed Center will award a $100 gift card for
the "Pedal Down" Hard Charger that passes the most cars in the feature. Close
Racing Supply will award a $100 gift card for the driver chosen as the "Tough
Break of the Night". Ontime Body & Graphic's "Spoiler Alert" will award a
spoiler kit to the eighth place finisher. The first feature non-qualifier will
receive a $50 certificate from Holley Performance brands each night.
Bazell Race Fuels presents the "Fill'er up with Sunoco Bucks" where random
drawings will take place for two $100 Sunoco Fuel cards for Tour drivers and
four $50 Sunoco Fuel cards for non-Tour drivers. There will also be five BOGO
Landrum Performance Springs certificates given away through drawings.

The event will also count towards the RUSH Colussy Chevrolet National Weekly
Series, the Genesee "Track Pack" and Russ King Racing "Futures Cup" for those
eligible racers.
You do not have to be a member of RUSH to compete only to receive Weekly and/or
Tour points. The entry fee is $100. The AMB/MyLaps
transponders will be used; rentals will be available for $25. The driver radio
channel will be 454.000.
The pits will be open throughout the day with pit passes going on sale at 5:00
p.m. RUSH registration will open at 3 p.m. with the drivers meeting at
6. Warmups will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.
