(Pulaski, PA)...The
action in the various Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series divisions
presented by Born2Run Lubricants continued as Jeremy Wonderling and Bryce Davis
scored victories in Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn’s
Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series this past weekend.
Travis Campbell won his first of 2024 in
the RUSH Late Models at Winchester Speedway.
Zain Harvey’s impressive season in RUSH Pro Mod action saw him tally two
more wins in RUSH weekly action. Ayden
Cipriano visited victory lane in RUSH Sportsman Modified action and John Mollick
and Blaze Myers split the RUSH Sprint Car wins this past weekend.
Kaden Michael continued his lead in the RUSH Stock Cars with a win at
Eriez Speedway.
It was a busy week for the teams that compete with the Hovis RUSH Dirt Late
Model Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series. The Series was slated to
compete at Woodhull Raceway Tuesday evening, but Mother Nature forced the
postponement of the event to Wednesday. The postponement didn’t stop Bryce Davis
from making a “clean sweep” of the night as the Canisteo, New York driver set
fast time for the evening in FK Rod Ends “Shock the Clock” Qualifying, won his
FK Rod Ends heat race, was victorious in the Sunoco Dash, and then capped off
the night by winning the “Darwin Davis Memorial” feature event.
Davis passed 14-year-old Series point
leader Brock Pinkerous on lap two and held off the youngster for the remainder
of the 30-lap feature to score his second Series victory of the season and a
$4,000 payday. Jeremy Wonderling came
home in third. Austin Allen came back from an opening lap spin to finish fourth
with Mike Wonderling getting the fifth position.
Saturday the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series stopped by Marion Center
Raceway for the second and final time of 2024. Brock Pinkerous and Jim Rasey led
the field to the green with Pinkerous taking the lead. Jeremy Wonderling, Rasey
and Demetrios Drellos followed. By lap four Pinkerous and Wonderling had
separated themselves from the field. On lap five, Wonderling dove under
Pinkerous in turn one to grab the lead; Pinkerous tried to retake the top spot
but was unable to do so. Wonderling went on to lead the remainder of the event
and hold off Pinkerous and Zack Carley as the trio battled lapped traffic in the
closing laps of the main event, to score the victory.
The win was Wonderling’s milestone 25th
career victory on the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series. Pinkerous
settled for second with Carley claiming third. Drellos
and Rasey rounded out the top five.
On Sunday, the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series travelled to Eriez
Speedway for the 13th Annual “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD
Performance. The Eriez record 55 teams in attendance shared in more than $32,500
valuable product giveaways! Brock
Pinkerous led the opening lap of the 30-lap main event before Jeremy Wonderling
took the top spot. Wonderling then withstood the late race challenges of Eriez
regulars Jason Genco and Dave Hess Jr. to score his second consecutive win of
the weekend. Genco held on for second
with Hess Jr. claiming third. Brock Pinkerous and Josh Ferry completed the top
five.
Travis Campbell and Davin Kaiser set the front row for Hovis RUSH Late Model
action at Winchester Speedway Saturday night. The
duo raced side-by-side on lap one with Campbell getting the top spot on lap two.
As Campbell began to pull away Isaiah
Gochenour pressured Kaiser for the second spot and took it away on lap three.
A caution on lap five slowed the field
but Campbell was able to keep the top spot when the action resumed.
By lap 15, Campbell had a full
straightaway lead and cruised his first victory of 2024 to become the season's
sixth different winner at the Virginia red clay oval.
Kaiser was able to get by Gochenour to
finish second. Gochenour, Tyler Hoy and
Steven Payne rounded out the top five.
Ryan Hare tallied his fourth RUSH Late Model victory of the season Saturday
evening at Tyler County Speedway. AJ
Spagnuolo was second. Muskingum
County Speedway regulars Brian Nethers and Logan Reed were third and fourth.
Kyle Thomas completed the top five.
Blaze Myers and Trent Marshall led the 18-car RUSH Sprint Car main event to
green at Sharon Speedway on Saturday. John
Mollick, who started third, quickly took command and scored a 5.260 second
victory over Myers, in the 20-lap caution-free Billy's Garage-sponsored feature.
For Mollick it was his third win of the
season at Sharon and eighth overall in Sunbelt Rentals Weekly Series action.
Gale Ruth, Jr., Brent Rhebergen and Arnie Kent completed the top five.
Sunday at Tri-City Raceway Park, Arnie Kent and rookie Ricky Tucker III led the
field to green. Kent led the first
circuit before Blaze Myers took control and went on for his third win of the
season at the Franklin, PA oval and his fifth overall in RUSH action.
Kent came home in second.
Joe Buccola, who got upside down the Sunday prior, was third.
John Mollick and 3C Graphix Futures Cup
points leader, Luke Mulichak, rounded out the top five.
The Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified division was also in action Saturday at Sharon
Speedway for a Wedge Motorsports "Route 7 Rumble" Series event.
Darin Gallagher and Ayden Cipriano led
the field to the green and swapped the lead with each other during the first
four laps. Cipriano took the top spot for
good and held off Chas Wolbert by 0.673 seconds to score his first Sharon win of
the season in RUSH competition. Cipriano
now has three wins at three different tracks this season.
Gallagher came home in third as he continues to battle for his first
career RUSH win. Kole Holden, who leads
both the Weekly and R7R points, finished fourth.
Brandon Ritchey completed the top five.
Eldred, Pa. competitor Zain Harvey continued his impressive season in RUSH Pro
Mod action as he scored two victories this past weekend.
Thursday in the first appearance of the
season at Genesee, Harvey took the lead from Josh Wilcox on lap 12 and went on
to tally the win and collect the $1,000 first place prize money.
Joe Chamberlain, Nathan Hill, Tommy Kemp,
and Nick Arnold completed the top five.
RUSH Pro Mod action continued at Freedom Motorsports Park on Saturday night.
Steve Dixon and Wilcox led the field to
the green however the duo made contact which caused Wilcox to spin and bring out
the yellow. When the racing action resumed, Harvey wasted no time in taking the
top spot and went on to score victory #16 of the 2024 season.
Dixon came home in the runner-up spot
with Chamberlain, Tommy Kemp and Wilcox rounding out the top five.
The lone RUSH Stock Car event of the weekend took place at Eriez Speedway. It
was also “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD Performance for the division and
the teams in attendance shared in over $6,000 in giveaways.
Kaden Michael picked up his fifth Eriez
win of the season as he led the entire distance of the main event.
It was Michael's ninth overall win of
2024 for the 2023 3C Graphix Futures Cup Champion.
Alex Bush, Raiddan Wilson, William Baker Jr. and Jimmy Roberson completed
the top five.
Rain claimed the RUSH racing action at Friday night tracks Dog Hollow and
Raceway 7, while severe flooding cancelled Saturday's program at Woodhull
Raceway. RUSH racers at Pittsburgh
Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stateline Speedway, Muskingum, and Bradford
Speedway had the weekend off.
