CAREER 1ST HOVIS RUSH LATE MODEL WINS FOR BILL TAYLOR, ZACH GUNN & GEORGE CASTO III; DEFENDING RUSH STOCK CHAMP KADEN MICHAEL WINS IN HIS 1ST EVER VISIT TO TRI-CITY

(Pulaski, PA)..The competition in the various Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series divisions presented by Born2Run Lubricants continues to provide fans throughout the region with lots of exciting action. This week there were three first time winners in RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action as Bill Taylor, Zach Gunn and George Casto III all scored their career first RUSH victories. Chas Wolbert continues to add to his win total in RUSH Sportsman Modified action as he swept the two races in the division and now has 12 victories for the season. John Mollick and Blaze Myers were the victors in Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Car action and Nick Arnold captured the lone RUSH Pro Mod event of the weekend while Kaden Michael and Darr Diegelman picked up the wins in RUSH Stock car action.

 

Hovis RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action at Raceway 7 Friday evening saw Billy Henry, Jr. lead the first 14 laps of the feature event until last week’s winner, Breyton Santee, grabbed the lead on lap 15. Santee went on to lead the final five circuits to score his second win of the season at the Conneaut, OH oval. The win was also Santee’s fifth overall in City Chevrolet Weekly Series action this year.  Henry came home in second with Bud Watson getting his best finish of the season in third.  Will Pinckney and Russ King Racing Futures Cup racer Logan Stockdale rounded out the top five.

 

Davin Kaiser tallied his eighth victory at Dog Hollow Speedway Friday evening and ninth overall of 2025 iN City Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  Mike Laughard was second with Leo Iarrapino finishing third.  Tyler Ellenberger and Tanner Zulisky finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

 

Zach Gunn and Brodie Oravetz led the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model main event to the green Saturday night at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.  Gunn wasted little time in grabbing the top spot and by lap two he extended his lead to a half-straightaway.  By lap five, Gunn was a full straightaway ahead of Brandon Burgoon and Tom Klein, who were second and third, respectively.  Gunn caught lapped traffic by lap 12 but that did not deter him as he continued leading the way and went on to score his career first Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model victory joining his brother Jake, who won his first career back on May 17.  Burgoon came home in second with Logan Zarin getting third.  Klein and Jamie Wrightsman completed the top five.

 

Dave DuBois and Chad Homan brought the RUSH Late Model field to the green Saturday at The Dirt Track at Genesee.  Dubois led the first lap before Jon Rivers powered into the lead on lap two.  Rivers held the top spot until a caution slowed the field on lap ten.  When the action resumed Bill Taylor began applying pressure to Rivers for the top spot.  Rivers retired to the pits with a mechanical failure on the following lap.  Taylor inherited the lead and went on to drive the final 13 laps to score his first ever RUSH Late Model victory by 4.7 seconds over Chad Homan. Paul Grigsby, Doug Ricotta, and Matt Tracey rounded out the top five.

 

Saturday evening at Tyler County Speedway George Casto III led the entire distance of the 20-lap RUSH Late Model main event to score his career first RUSH win part of the Dave Poske's Performance Parts Mid-Ohio Valley Series.  Casto leads the Russ King Racing Futures Cup points.  Kyle Thomas came in second with AJ Spagnuolo getting third. Ryan Hare and Brian Nethers completed the top five.

 

Veterans Randy Hall and Scott Gurdak led the RUSH Late Model main event to the green Saturday evening at Stateline Speedway.  Hall quickly grabbed the top spot and went on to lead the entire distance of the 20-lap main event to capture his second win of the season.  Jason Genco, Gurdak, Zack Carley, and David Parker completed the top five.

 

RUSH Late Model action at Woodhull Raceway Saturday evening saw Steve LeBarron put on a driving clinic to tally his fourth win of the season at the New York oval.  At the end of the 20-lap feature event, Lebarron had more than a straightaway lead over current divisional points leader, Brett Marlatt.  Brian Knowles finished third with Rickie Loucks and Marshall O’Brien rounding out the top five.

 

The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Sportsman Modified teams competed in Route 7 Rumble action at both Raceway 7 and Sharon Speedway.  Friday evening at Raceway 7 Chas Wolbert once again led the entire distance of the 20-lap main event to tally his fifth victory in five tries season at the track.  Wolbert has a chance to be the only racer in track’s history to go unbeaten in feature competition, during a season as only two regular nights of racing remain.  Third generation driver, Karston King, had his career best finish in RUSH action, as he claimed the runner-up position.  Another third-generation driver, Jackson Kristyak, came home in third.  Rookie Nolan Burns and first year RUSH Sportsman driver Troy Pinch complete the top five.

 

JC Boyer led the first eight circuits of the RUSH Sportsman Modified event at Sharon Speedway until a caution for Lucas Canon slowed the field.  Wolbert, who had hounded Boyer during the first eight laps, used the top side of the speedway to power by Boyer and score the win by 2.198 seconds.  The victory was Wolbert’s 12th overall in divisional action this season. Boyer held on for second with last week’s winner, Darrin Gallagher, claiming third. Kole Holden and Dalton Gabriel rounded out the top five.

 

Two days of Hovis RUSH Sprint Car Billy's Garage Weekly Series action kicked off Friday at Tri-City Raceway Park.  Fourteen-year-old competitor Samantha Priest led the first five laps of the main event before Blaze Myers used the restart to get by Priest for the top spot.  Myers then pulled away to score his eighth victory of the season at the Venango Couty oval.  Joe Buccola, Ricky Tucker III, Wyatt Long and Logen Lockhart completed the top five.

 

Saturday evening the RUSH Sprint Car teams visited Sharon Speedway.  Rookie competitor Grayson Bayle led the first five circuits while seventh place starter John Mollick, slowly worked his way into second. While Bayle was trying to hold off Wyatt Long, Mollick made an impressive three-wide move on the outside of the speedway to take the top spot. Mollick went on to score the win, which was his fifth of the season at Sharon and his 25th in divisional action, by 3.700 seconds.  Joe Buccola came home the runner-up for the second night in a row.  Jeremy Weaver was third subbing for Zach Morrow.  Arnie Kent and Dustin DeMattia, who made his first RUSH Sprint start in three years, rounded out the top five.

 

The lone RUSH Pro Mod event of the weekend took place Saturday at Stateline Speedway.  Nick Arnold started on the pole and led the entire distance of the 15-lap A-Main to tally his second win of the season. RUSH points leader, Josh Wilcox, claimed second with Al Brewer getting third.  Tyler Oakes and Adam Peterson rounded out the top five.

 

The Hovis RUSH Stock Cars began their weekend at Tri-City Raceway Park Friday evening. Raiddan Wilson led the first seven circuits of the main event before a caution slowed the field.  When green flag action resumed, Kaden Michael, who was making his first ever visit to the track, powered around Wilson to lead the final eight laps and score his first fifth overall win of 2025. Camron Kramer claimed the second spot with Wilson getting third. Blaze Harrison was fourth in his first ever Tri-City start beating out William Baker, Jr.

 

RUSH Stock Car action moved to Stateline Speedway the following evening. Cole Strickland and Darr Diegelman led the field to the green with Diegelman leading the first seven laps while sixth place starter Raiddan Wilson slowly worked his way through the field.  Wilson grabbed the top spot on lap eight and went on to score the win and redeem himself for the loss the night before. Diegelman finished in second with Strickland, William Baker and Alex Bush completing the top five.

 

Rain claimed the RUSH action scheduled on Sunday at both Eriez and Bradford Speedways.  

 

This weekend’s RUSH Late Model action features the $5,000 to-win Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour "Jim Peterson Memorial" at McKean County Raceway on Friday.  RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action is also scheduled Friday at Dog Holllow Speedway, Georgetown Speedway and Raceway 7.  Saturday RUSH Late Model action includes The Dirt Track at Genesee, Stateline Speedway, Winchester Speedway and Woodhull Raceway.  Eriez Speedway is the lone option for RUSH Late Model teams on Sunday.

 

This week’s Hovis RUSH Sprint Car Billy's Garage Weekly Series action kicks off at Tri-City Raceway Park on Friday and moves to Lernerville Speedway on Saturday for an $1,100 to-win event presented by Peluso Roofing. 

 

It’s a doubleheader weekend for the Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified teams as they will be in action Friday at Raceway 7 before heading to Sharon Speedway on Saturday.  The Sharon event is also the division’s annual “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD Performance with more than $15,000 in valuable product giveaways for the teams in attendance!

 

Hovis RUSH Pro Mod teams will also have their “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD Performance Friday at McKean County Raceway.   All legal RUSH Pro Mods will be guaranteed to receive a product package valued at a minimum of $330.  RUSH Pro Mods will also be in action Saturday at Stateline Speedway and Sunday at Bradford Speedway.

 

Hovis RUSH Stock Car competitors have a three-day race weekend on tap.  They will begin the weekend Friday at Tri-City Raceway Park with a special $500 to win event before travelling to Stateline Speedway Saturday. The division will conclude the weekend Sunday at Eriez Speedway.

 

August is winding down, but there is still lots of exciting RUSH Racing Series action throughout the region for all five classes so get out and enjoy an evening or two at a speedway near you.
