September 3, 2025               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Winchester, VA)...After a pair of Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Model Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series events over Labor Day weekend in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the Tour returns to action this Saturday night (September 6) at Greg Gunter’s Winchester Speedway.  Race #14 of the 2025 season will be the rescheduled $5,000 to-win event from May 3 at the Virginia high-banked clay oval.

The Tour has made eight appearances over the years at Winchester with six different winners.  Logan Roberson, the 2022 Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour Champion, is the only multiple winner with three victories; in fact, Roberson has won three of the last five events.  Other winners include four other Virginia racers in Rick Singleton, Walker Arthur, Allen Brannon, and Kyle Hardy; however, in 2023, Canadian Charlie Sandercock scored the upset victory.  The 2024 event was rained out.  The last five Tour events at Winchester have attracted between 41-44 cars!

Winchester has hosted seven RUSH City Chevrolet Weekly Series events in 2025 with four different winners; RUSH Late Model rookie Cody Williams, 2023 Futures Cup Champion Davin Kaiser, 2017 Futures Cup Champion Devin Brannon, and Hardy have been victorious.  Brannon however is the only repeat winner with four victories.  Kaiser, who has 10 wins at Dog Hollow Speedway, leads the City Chevrolet Track Pack points and is fourth in the City National Weekly Series points over Hardy.  Winchester has averaged 22 cars per night with 46 different cars in competition this season.

"Greg Gunter has been an integral part of the success of the RUSH Late Models in the Mid-Atlantic," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "Winchester has been the Mid-Atlantic home to weekly RUSH Late Model racing since 2014 and Greg has been gracious enough to host our Tour nearly every year.  Last year, Greg really stepped up to co-present our $20,000 to-win Touring Series Championship with Flynn's Tire and upped the ante with a $5,000 to-win Tour event at Winchester that unfortunately has been rained out the last two attempts.  The Mid-Atlantic racers are tough and always pose a challenge to our Touring Series regulars and with $5,000 on the line Saturday it should be quite the show."

Jeremy Wonderling, who is in search of an unprecedented fifth Series title, leads the Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour into Winchester searching for his first ever victory at the Virginia oval  The Wellsville, NY driver sits atop the standings by 34 over Virginian, Kyle Hardy, who has come on strong of late with four straight top four finishes including back-to-back wins last weekend at Tri-City and Tyler County Speedways.

Second year Tour racer, Austin Allen, has moved back into third in points thanks to five top five finishes as he continues to chase after his first Tour win.  3C Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year points leader, Demetrios Drellos, is just four points back in fourth.  Drellos’ lead over Zack Carley in the RoY standings has shrunk to nine thanks to three straight top six finishes by Carley.

Jason Knowles is sixth in points.  Daryl Charlier, who is coming off a strong weekend with a fifth and third- his best finishes since his win at Tri-City back on May 25, is only four points behind Knowles.  Ben Easler and Mike Wonderling are both coming off a tough weekend and sit eighth and ninth respectively.  Austin Hauser is 10th.  Completing the top 15 in points are Bryce Davis, rookies Bill Holmes III and Ryan Hare along with Bud Watson and Brad Mesler.

The event will also count towards the RUSH City Chevrolet National Weekly Series, Winchester’s City Chevrolet "Track Pack" and Russ King Racing "Futures Cup" for those eligible racers.
