September 2, 2026               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Franklin, PA)...After three weekends off, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Dirt Late Models Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series will return to action this Sunday night (September 6) at Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa. as part of the track’s annual multi-event “Oil Region Labor Day Classic” weekend special.  Race #10 of the of the 2026 season will pay $4,000 to-win.  Warmups begin at 6 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.

Mother Nature claimed the first scheduled Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Tour event at Tri-City back on Memorial Day weekend.  Sunday is a Platinum Event allowing teams to throw out a prior worst finish or use the event to replace a missed Marquee Event.  In addition to Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series points being awarded, Colussy Chevrolet National Weekly Series and Russ King Racing Futures Cup points will also be on the line as well.

In May 2024, Tri-City hosted the return of the Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Tour event for the first time in six years.  The event was won by Brock Pinkerous, who celebrated his first career Tour win in Landrum Performance Springs Victory Lane.  Pinkerous went on to win the $20,000 championship.  Last year saw Daryl Charlier end a three-year winless drought with a dominating performance in the Memorial Day weekend event, while Kyle Hardy won the Labor Day weekend event in his first ever visit.

The Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series has made 10 visits to Tri-City all-time with seven of them occurring from 2015-2018.  Max Blair and Mike Pegher, Jr. each have won a pair of events, while single victories have gone to Bryce Davis, Jeremy Wonderling, Brady Wonderling, Pinkerous, Charlier, and Hardy.

“We’re looking forward to returning to Tri-City on Sunday,” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  “Tri-City is somewhat neutral ground as most of our RUSH racers do not have much experience on the half-mile Venango County oval.  The weather is looking great for Sunday and this will be a good show for the fans with the ‘410’ Sprint Cars also featured.  We have to thank the Shiffer Family for being a strong supporter of RUSH as they run our RUSH Sprint Cars and RUSH Stock Cars weekly along with events for the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds.”

Five-time Flynn’s Tire/Gunter’s Honey Touring Series Champion, Jeremy Wonderling, who is the only repeat winner this season, leads the Tour into Tri-City.  Wonderling’s point lead has shrunk to 16 over Demetrios Drellos, who has beaten Wonderling in four of the last five events including his first career Tour win at Stateline.  Drellos has finished in the top 10 in all nine events this season.

Thanks to seven straight top 10 finishes, Christian Schneider has expanded his lead over Kurt Stebbins to 16 in the battle for third in points as well as the $3,000 to-win 3C Graphix Rookie-of-the-Year standings.  Daryl Charlier is just one-point behind Stebbins in fifth.  Sixth through 10th in points are Ben Easler, Jason Knowles, Austin Allen, Ashton Briggs, and Cody Dawson.

$100 "Shock the Clock" Qualifying and $25 to-win heat races will be presented by FK Rod Ends.  The Sunoco Dash will set the beginning rows of the feature lineup and will award the winner a $100 Sunoco fuel gift card.  The "Fill'er up with Sunoco Bucks" program co-presented by Bazell Race Fuels will include an additional $400 of Sunoco fuel card giveaways; two $100 random draws for drivers in the top 15 of Tour points and another four $50 random draws for all other competitors each night.
