(Pulaski, PA)…As summer quickly begins to wane and with fall just around the corner, the “best is yet to come” certainly describes the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series. The Sweeney Touring Series gets ready to shift into high gear for what will be an exceptionally valuable and exciting eight-week period of end of season marquee events in the Series inaugural season..
Following the McKean County Fair event on Thursday, August 15 and the $2,000 to-win “Gary Knollinger Memorial” on Saturday, August 17 at Sharon Speedway, the $30,000 Manufacturers Night will be the centerpiece of “The End of Summer $50,000 Weekend” over Labor Day weekend.
On Saturday, August 31, Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway will feature the $30,000 “Manufacturers Night” along with a $1,500 to-win Sweeney Touring event, and concluding on Labor Day with a $2,000 to-win event with NDRL’s “King’s of Dirt” $20,000 to-win Super Late Model event at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.
This exciting weekend begins what will be a knockout schedule of nine events that will see the Sweeney RUSH Touring Series take part in the majority of the region’s end of season signature events. Sharon’s Speedway’s “Apple Festival Nationals”, McKean County’s “Fall Classic”, Roaring Knob’s “Big Kahuna”, Hesston Speedway’s “Ultimate”, PPMS NDRL’s “Pittsburgher”, Lernerville Speedway’s “Steel City Stampede” and of course the RUSH National Championship “Northern States Classic” event presented by Sunoco/Bazell Race Fuels that will also take place at Roaring Knob all make-up this exceptional slate of events!
In this short period of time, tens of thousands of dollars in purse monies will be on the line for RUSH participants along with what is expected to be over $50,000 in actual product contingency awards in conjunction with the PPMS “Manufacturers Night” and the September 27-28 “Bill Hendren Memorial” at Roaring Knob. These two promotional product contingency events along with season long contingency awards and over $70,000 of actual cash point funds will influx over $120,000 in cash and product contingencies directly into the hands of RUSH racers in 2013!
Already “Manufacturers Night” is gaining momentum towards its $30,000 plus goal as multiple nationally-recognized companies have posted the details of their contingencies. RUSH Officials have guaranteed that over 50 valuable contingencies will be “randomly” awarded. Contingencies will be actual hard product valued at a minimum of $175 with many already posted at several hundred dollars and some exceeding $1,000 to $1,800. To date, over 40 of these prizes have been secured with many more expected in the weeks leading up to the event.
“We cannot tell you how excited we are to be able to offer an event like Manufacturers Night to our racers,” stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig. “Over the last several months we have been blessed with the support of so many great sponsors that have chosen to align with our Series. Through their participation, we are able to distribute thousand of dollars of actual product to our racers throughout the season plus put together Manufacturers Night! It’s unbelievable how generous all of these great companies have been to our Series and it will be really satisfying to see our racers receive these great, and most importantly, useful products.”

The Brake Man’s set of F3 Tornado Brake Calipers ($1,800) and ATL’s 32-gallon Dirt Late Model “Sports” Fuel Cell ($1,067) top the list of exciting products. Combo nose kits, crew apparel packages, custom crate headers, complete sets of rod ends, a beehive valve spring conversion kit, three complete dyno sessions, a Lincoln Electric Welder, custom fire suit, gloves, and shoes, numerous 16V Batteries, packages of aluminum, sets of Hoosier “Crate Racin USA” tires, a set of beadlock wheels, and a complete custom late model wrap have already been posted and are waiting for lucky RUSH racers to take home!
