SWEENEY RUSH SERIES TO HOLD PROMOTERS SUMMIT TUESDAY; IMPORTANT TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED FOR LATE MODEL, SPORTSMAN MOD & PRO STOCK DIVISIONS

(Pulaski, PA)...On Tuesday, September 15, RUSH affiliated speedway promoters from Canada south to the Mid-Atlantic Region will gather for an important summit near the New Castle, Pennsylvania area.  Topics will focus around RUSH’s three divisions of race cars; Crate Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds, and Pro Stocks, as well as other issues speedways face in their operations.  The RUSH Series currently encompasses a 600-mile radius from 100 miles northeast of Toronto to southern Maryland.  RUSH-sanctioned events took place at 24 different speedways throughout 2015.

The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series will soon be completing its third year of operations; however, RUSH Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone will be completing their ninth in conjunction with crate racing development throughout the Northeast.

The RUSH Late Models will be concluding their third season with 13 weekly-sanctioned  tracks along with an additional nine that held either weekly or touring  events as well over 300 different competitors participated.  The Sportsman Modifieds growth  in year two was right on track with both Sharon and Sportsman’s Speedway running the class weekly.  The RUSH Pro Stock pilot program was launched and saw member racers competing with crate engines accumulate points at seven different speedways to date in their inaugural championship program.

“I'm really looking forward to meeting with all of our promoters on Tuesday," stated Emig.  “Response to this year's meeting has been very good and we are expecting  a high attendance on Tuesday.  It's no secret that racing in general is facing a lot of  issues and it's important that we work together to keep our specific brand, crate racing, healthy for all concerned into the future.  We as a series need to listen to our promoter's concerns then work together to come to the best solution to address situations that are having a  negative impact on our continued growth.  We really do have a tremendous group of promoters, many of which were racers themselves. We as RUSH can only implement and support their overall decisions, as in reality, we work for them and their racers.  I'm confident that they have their racers' best interest in mind and in the end workable solutions can be achieved."

"It means a lot to us that Mark Rinaldi of Brighton Speedway and RUSH Sportsman Modified presenting sponsor Pete Bicknell of Bicknell Racing Products and Merrittville Speedway will travel many hours down from Canada to attend," continued Emig.  "We have also received word that the majority of our sanctioned speedways promoters will also be in attendance.  RUSH competition director Travis Harry and branding sponsor representative Matt Fullerton of Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC will also be present."
