SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL 2-MONTH $10,000 PACE PERFORMANCE “SUMMER CHASE” SET TO KICKOFF THIS WEEK

July 1, 2013               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(
Pulaski, PA)…As hard as it may be to believe, the 2013 Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Weekly Series Championship has reached its mid-point of its inaugural season with three months in and three months to go.  With that said, the two-month $10,000+ Pace Performance “Summer Chase” will kick off this week and continues through Labor Day Weekend!

Fifty-two different drivers have qualified for the Pace Performance “Summer Chase,” which will pay $3,000 to the champion down to $500 for 10th spot (see driver list and complete payoff below)!  Drivers qualified for the program by being RUSH members and being in the top 10 at any of the seven weekly-sanctioned speedway’s RUSH points (using RUSH’s point system) or by being in the top 10 of the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series points at the end of June.

The rules of the “Summer Chase” and the goal are simple: race as much as you can and do as well as you can in RUSH-sanctioned events from now until September 2 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.  The same Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Weekly Series point system will be in effect and those points will continue to accumulate through the end of September; however, for the “Summer Chase” drivers’ average points per event will be utilized.  Drivers must participate in a minimum of eight events to be eligible.

“We could have added these funds onto our $25,000+ Sweeney Weekly Series Championship, but thought the Summer Chase would add a unique and exciting twist to the Series and at the same time possibly spread another $10,000 to additional racers,” explained RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig.  “While our Sweeney Weekly program is based on racers’ best 15 finishes (best two finishes per weekend) for six months, this program gives racers additional incentive to go and race as much as possible and support our sanctioned speedways and events in the dog days of summer.”
