(Pulaski, PA)…Two weeks after the announcement of the new RUSH Dirt Late Model Series debuting in the Northeast in 2013, Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are thrilled to announce Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC in Boardman, Ohio has come on board in a big way to brand the new Series! 

The Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series will include three standout core programs featuring the Sweeney Chevrolet “Northeast Weekly Series Championship”, the Sweeney Chevrolet “Summer Chase”, and a Sweeney Chevrolet “Touring Series”!  Sweeney Chevrolet will be “The Official Engine Supplier of the RUSH Dirt Late Model Series”.  With that said, the RUSH Series is thrilled to unveil the new Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series logo! 

When the initial announcement of the creation of the Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series was made, the four tracks of McKean County Raceway, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, Sharon Speedway, and The Rock Allegany County Speedway jumped on board and will have RUSH sanction their weekly events!  Negotiations are underway with numerous other speedways in the Northeast. 

The $25,000 Sweeney Chevrolet “Northeast Weekly Series Championship” will pay $5,000 to-win down 30 positions allowing drivers to accumulate their 15 best finishes (two per weekend) April through September at any Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Late Model event. 

At the conclusion of June, the top 10 racers at each Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH-sanctioned speedway and Touring Series will be eligible for the two-month “Summer Chase”.  Drivers can compete in as many Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH-sanctioned events.  The driver that accumulates the best point average (minimum of eight events) will be awarded $3,000.  Nine other drivers will share in over $7,000 for a grand total of more than $10,000!

Surely not to be forgotten is the prestigious Sweeney Chevrolet “Touring Series Championship”.  Points will be awarded at each marquee event during the 2013 season with $5,000 going to the champion and paying down 15 positions.  The 2013 schedule is currently in its planning stages and a minimum of 20 events is expected. 

Several other programs and concepts will be part of the Sweeney Chevrolet Touring Series like the Sweeney Chevrolet 604 Engine Giveaway, “Manufacturers Night”, the Bill Emig Memorial “Wild Card Weekend”, the “Futures Cup” and much more!  Over $30,000 of cash will be distributed in Touring point funds in addition to various contingencies.

Not only is Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC a leading car dealer in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania area, but they’ve also become one of the nation’s top sellers of crate engines.  As the “Official Engine Supplier of the RUSH Dirt Late Model Series,” racers can purchase the GM 604 engine at the very low price of $5,090 through Sweeney.  RUSH racers should also watch for exciting discount programs for member drivers that will be announced shortly after the first of the year.

It was recently announced that the Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series will be part of a huge doubleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on April 19-20.  “Battle Down the National Pike” will feature a $2,000 to-win show at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa. on Friday night followed by the first ever Crate Late Model show at the nationally-renowned Hagerstown Speedway on Saturday night in a $2,500 to-win, $250 to-start event.  An additional $1,200 in travel money will also be posted.
